Healthy Teachers, Happy Classrooms: Twelve Brain-based Principles to Avoid Burnout, Increase Optimism, and Support Physical Well-Being Many teachers are simply and understandably burning out! The fire and passion that once sparked for teaching are simply becoming extinguished. In this highly-engaging workshop, based on the book by the same title, educators will not only learn how to restore their passion for teaching, they will also explore 12 brain-based principles for looking five to ten years younger, becoming and remaining healthier, and living a longer life! These principles, which can also be applied to the classroom, include remaining optimistic, staying active, and forming close personal relationships. This workshop has been called both personally and professionally life-changing and so much fun!
In this session, we go over four easy steps to help make any classroom more inclusive towards people from all walks of life. Walk away with actual ideas and inspirations to help make your classroom inclusive no matter where you are on your equity journey.
The IgKnight Academy staff will share the good, the bad and the ugly of taking personalized learning to the deepest levels. They will reflect on the triumphs and tribulations experienced so far, share strategies and structures for embedding the 10 Tenets of Personalized Learning in daily practice, and share the next steps in learning for themselves and their students. Participants will have the option to engage in a break out session of choice with either Inspire (3rd-5th grade teachers), Empower (6th-8th grade teachers) or Pathways (Exploratory).
